an ode to troubled times

May 28, 2020

an ode to troubled times

– after ‘I Wish You Love’ by Natalie Cole
Rebecca L. Yong

when times are trying
and life hangs in the balance,
(i wish you bluebirds in the spring)

when we feel like crying
because the future is uncertain,
(to give your heart a song to sing)

we sing for one another, undying,
step into flourishing gardens
(and then a kiss, but more than this)

i wish you love

Rebecca L. Yong
